World Government laws were very clear on this: any accident resulting in death would be sentenced to link the author to the family of the deceased, for whom he would work for the rest of his life. The driver got out of the car and was horrified to discover the limp body of someone, most of whom remained under the car, a tenth-generation Tesla. The torn suit was revealing part of the arm that protruded from under the side of the left front wheel. A small puddle of a green liquid spread slowly soaking up the tire and advancing towards the sidewalk. He had run over an alien. He still did not know that the alien was a diplomat from the 2A System, in charge of negotiations between the World Government and the representatives of his System to establish an economic collaboration agreement. Panic seized him. He walked a few steps and lost consciousness, falling into the puddle of green liquid. He woke up in the hospital. A Government Delegation was waiting to explain his situation. He would have to move to live in the 2A System and work to support the alien’s family. Upon his death, his corpse, in a sealed coffin, was repatriated to his city.

Las leyes de gobierno mundial eran muy claras al respecto: cualquier accidente que resultará en muerte tendría la condena de vincular al autor con la familia del difunto, para la que trabajaría durante el resto de su vida. El conductor se bajó del coche y descubrió con horror el cuerpo inerte de alguien del que su mayor parte permanecía debajo del automóvil, un Tesla de décima generación. El traje desgarrado dejaba ver parte del brazo que sobresalía del lado de la rueda delantera izquierda. Un pequeño charco de un líquido verde se extendía despacio impregnado el neumático y avanzando hacia la acera. Había atropellado a un alienígena. Todavía no sabía que el alienígena era un diplomático del sistema 2 A, encargado de las negociaciones entre el gobierno mundial y los representantes de su sistema para establecer un acuerdo de colaboración económica. El pánico se apoderó de él. Anduvo unos pasos y perdió el conocimiento cayendo sobre el charco de líquido verde. Se despertó en el hospital. Una delegación del Gobierno esperaba para explicarle su situación. Se tendría que desplazar a vivir en el sistema 2 A y trabajar para mantener a la familia del alienígena. Tras su muerte, su cadáver, en un ataúd sellado, fue repatriado a su ciudad.
