World Government laws were very clear on this: any accident resulting in death would be sentenced to link the author to the family of the deceased, for whom he would work for the rest of his life. The driver got out of the car and was horrified to discover the limp body of someone, most of whom remained under the car, a tenth-generation Tesla. The torn suit was revealing part of the arm that protruded from under the side of the left front wheel. A small puddle of a green liquid spread slowly soaking up the tire and advancing towards the sidewalk. He had run over an alien. He still did not know that the alien was a diplomat from the 2A System, in charge of negotiations between the World Government and the representatives of his System to establish an economic collaboration agreement. Panic seized him. He walked a few steps and lost consciousness, falling into the puddle of green liquid. He woke up in the hospital. A Government Delegation was waiting to explain his situation. He would have to move to live in the 2A System and work to support the alien’s family. Upon his death, his corpse, in a sealed coffin, was repatriated to his city.
